being a boot-strapped tech founder is hard. you work 12+ hour days, 6 days a week, all while running on 5 hours of sleep. you do that for a few years on the minimum with no sign of reprieve or external validation.
starting a company is hard.
being a long-form youtube content creator is hard. you press publish even though you don’t feel fully ready. you somehow manage to ignore the feeling and keep making videos. 38 videos to be exact, each taking 10+ hours in a week, while the subscriber count staunchly remains at 686. then, one day you grow. then, one day don’t.
putting yourself out there is hard.
being a pageant girl is hard. it isn’t hard in the traditional sense. but it is hard in the sense you need to learn how to walk and speak in a graceful manner. you need to do all of that that while not comparing your 5’3 physique with others who look absolutely gorgeous.
giving yourself grace is hard.
staying consistent and being disciplined is hard. staying consistent and being disciplined while not seeing results for months, if not years at a time and not receiving any type of external assurance from someone else, is also hard.
stopping because you are not getting the results you want fast enough is easy. looking at someone else’s work and explaining why something did or didn’t work is also easy. not putting yourself out there is also easy. not wanting things because you the thought of not getting it feels worse? that is easy too.
easy does not give you what you need. easy doesn’t cause you to grow. always do the hard thing
Some really great reminders here! Thanks for sharing. 💛
